Toowoomba Hockey Expo returns this weekend
HOCKEY: Regulars and newcomers alike will be welcomed to Clyde Park on Saturday when Toowoomba Hockey Association hosts its annual open day.
The 2019 Toowoomba Hockey Expo, including club sign-ons, will run from noon until 3pm.
Activities and games have been organised for all ages.
Exhibition matches will be played while come-and-try sessions will be available for those who have never played hockey.
Registrations are also open for the Hookin2Hockey program for kids.
Five Toowoomba clubs are available for prospective players to join.
Red Lion Hockey Club, Rangeville Hockey Club, Newtown Hockey Club, Northern Suburbs Hockey Club Of Toowoomba and Past High Hockey Club are all seeking players for the upcoming season.
■ IN OTHER Darling Downs hockey news, Tatum Stewart has been chosen for the Queensland under-18 women’s team to contest the national championships in Hobart from April 9-17.
Her selection follows the naming of seven Darling Downs players for 2019 Queensland under-15 teams.
Daniel Burge, Jack Hawthorne, Bailey Rutledge, Ryan Bidgood, Oliver Harding and Cameron Love have won boy’s squad selection.
Xuan Mai Connor has been named in the girl’s team. The championships will be held in Narellan from April 8-14.
