Funding for Live Steamers

Support for miniature railway

-

FAMILIES will have better access to the fun and excitement of the Live Steamers miniature railway at Kearneys Spring with the support of funding under round four of the Coalition Government’s Stronger Communities Program.

Federal Member for Groom John McVeigh visited the team at Live Steamers last week to announce the funding and discuss plans for a new electric locomotive.

“Live Steamers provide such a funfilled activity for local families and visitors to our region. I am very pleased the Coalition Government has been able to provide support for this great community organisation,” Dr McVeigh said.

“The purchase of a new electric locomotive will ensure that Live Steamers can operate more reliably, even on occasions were the steam locomotives could not be used.”

Dr McVeigh said the Stronger Communities program provided much-needed support for local community organisations across the country.

“I am very proud to be able to support local organisations in the Groom electorate like Toowoomba Live Steamers. The people that make up these organisations work tirelessly for the benefit of the wider community and I am truly grateful for what they do.”
