‘I have no remorse’

Delusional sex pest says he’s the victim: ‘I’m just like Gandhi’

-

DISGRACED comedian Bill Cosby has doubled down on his lack of remorse for appalling sex assaults by comparing himself with some of history’s greatest human rights heroes.

The 81-year-old, who was sentenced last year to up to 10 years for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in 2004, has likened his imprisonment to the oppression endured by political prisoners such as Martin Luther King Jr, Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.

It follows comments earlier in the week from his lawyer Andrew Wyatt that Cosby was having an “amazing” time in prison, had lost weight and even given up coffee.

Mr Wyatt also said Cosby was not “sad or remorseful” because he “did nothing wrong”. Yesterday Mr Wyatt released Cosby’s first public statement since the former superstar was jailed last year.

“My political beliefs, my actions of trying to humanise all races, genders and religions landed me in this place surrounded by barbed-wire fencing, a room made of steel and iron,” Cosby’s statement says. “So, I now have a temporary residence that resembles the quarters of some of the Greatest Political Prisoners – Martin Luther King, Jr, Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Randal Robinson, and Dr Benjamin Chavis.

“I stand upright as a Political Prisoner and I Smile. The Truth is Strong!”

Cosby (pictured) was accused of a series of serious sexual assaults – including against children – dating back decades by dozens of women.
