Industry partnership focus for conference

-

BACK for its second year, TSBE Food Leaders Australia is proud to be hosting the 2019 Intensive Animal Industry Conference in Dalby on Thursday, March 7.

Southern Queensland is the home of intensive animal industries in Australia. The region has many advantages that mean continued strong investment in the beef, pork, poultry and dairy sectors.

With our reliable grain production, significant infrastructure spending in air, road and rail and available workforce, southern Queensland will continue to drive these industries within Australia.

The Intensive Animal Industry Conference will bring together these four industries with the view to share best practice, advocate for common policy change and allow collaboration across the sectors. The conference aims to share knowledge and drive innovation within the region’s lucrative industry.

Continuing on from a successful 2018 event, which in its inaugural year had 130 industry participants attend the conference, this year’s event has been expanded to include the dairy sector and include a Young Industry Participants day prior to the conference, which will be followed by a networking dinner.

“We have built on the success from last year’s conference and this year’s is an ideal opportunity for intensive animal producers and industry participants to learn from the industry and consumer leaders on a range of key points such as regional planning, innovation and social licence,” FLA general manager Bruce McConnel said.

Topics include making investment easier, updated growth stories, social licence and making innovation accessible. There will be panel discussions and speakers from the University of Southern Queensland, Woolworths, AgLive, Mort & Co, Sunpork and Premise.
