Erotic Intelligence for the disillusioned

Hilarious comedy show offers new take on ‘monogamy-based dogma’ in relationships

-

HELEN Cassidy’s acclaimed one woman comedy show is headed up the range for the inaugural Curious Arts Festival after sell-out seasons at Brisbane Festival, Perth Fringe World, Melbourne and Adelaide Fringe.

An award-winning actress and clown, Ms Cassidy, will be performing her comedy show Erotic Intelligence for Dummies at the Empire Theatre on March 15 and 16.

The act has been described as a long, hard, cross-eyed look at the complexities of intimate relationships.

“Contemporary relationships are in a state of rapid flux, with many of us confessing to feeling a little disenchanted with the monogamy-based dogma we’ve been fed by society, religion and the media,” the show blurb reads.

“The performance centres on how society can improve these relationships, the myriad styles of multi-love and our true animal nature - all while maintaining the mystery.

“Through blending philosophy, dress-ups, song, puppetry and balloons into a scandalously layered trifle of love, lust and learning, Cassidy will create the ultimate bonding session.”

Recently returned from Las Vegas where she was creating and performing in the hit comedy show Opium, Ms Cassidy tours the globe working in theatre, cabaret, variety and street festivals as both an actor and director.

Tickets are $35 and are available from the Empire Theatre website.
