Race 1: There was early money for Turbo Magic at $17. The connection­s were on The Volto at big odds. Snap On was hard to lay and the bookies were $3.40 with no takers. Punters only wanted Soxagon and as much at $4.60 was bet pre post. There was one good phone bet of $1200 at $2.70 to hurt the bookies off with a bad start.

Race 2: An interestin­g betting race with early money for Namib at $3.60. Osmosis was a drifter and bookies had to bet $5to put it in their books. All the big money was on Little John with one good phone bet of $1000 at $4. The winner Ruby Guru was backed Friday night and the on-course bookies got the lot.

Race 3: There was early specking for Hit The General at $71. But all interest was on Serlina with a $3000 cash bet at the totes and the bookies had money for dinner.

Race 4: Tisani Magic was very hard to lay and was $2.60 at jump time with no takers. Magic Ink saw small money at $7.50. The winner in Eight Over was all the rage and there was a cash bet of $2000 at $2 and smaller cash bets at $2 to give a bad result to the bagman.

Race 5: Louie La’Joy was specked at $6. Satyricon saw money at $14; but all interest was on the true 1200m horse and winner Excelebraz­ione. The $2.20 went off quick and there was one bet of $2000 at $2.15.

Race 6: There was no money for Perfect Aim and the bookies were $4 with no takers. Rosendahl Red was a shortener off course $3 into $2.80 and no money came back to the track. The connection­s were on Sogni at $10 and this gave the bookies the worst result of the night. Race 7: A quiet betting race to finish off on. Punters only wanted Kopella and the $2 went off quickly. There was a cash bet of $1500 at $1.7 to send the bookies home with coins in the bag.
