mom 111 Funny 111, 8.30pm

Single mum Christy (Anna Faris) has her hands full with her two children, Violet (Sadie Calvano) and Roscoe (Blake Garrett Rosenthal). Throw in her newfound sobriety and passive-aggressive, recovering-alcoholic mother Bonnie (Allison Janney, below) brimming with criticisms and it’s surprising she’s even coping at all. But fear not, Mom is nowhere near as dark as it sounds. Truth be told, it’s actually hilarious, and more often than not that’s thanks to the amazing comedic chemistry between Faris and Janney, who is consistently sensational in everything she does. In tonight’s season four premiere Bonnie shacks up with Adam (William Fichtner) and Christy hits a new AA meeting full of single men.

Good times.
