Improving the lives of women with breast cancer

-

TOOWOOMBA jeweller Lannah Dunn and Blush Cancer Care founder Dr Sharyn Donaldson have celebrated five years of their charitable partnership.

For Mrs Dunn, it’s a cause close to her heart.

“The diagnosis of breast cancer has impacted so many of our loved ones and their families, with one in eight Australian women being diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime,” Mrs Dunn said.

“Being able to partner with Blush Cancer Care Inc allows us to support women in our local community on their journey to wellness.”

Mrs Dunn handed over a $2460 donation yesterday, the proceeds from last year’s in-store event.

Blush Cancer Care is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to improve the lives of women on the Darling Downs with breast cancer.

Every year various Blush Cancer Care and Lannah Dunn Fine Jewellery events are held to raise money to support the organisation’s work.

The Blush High Tea and Sparkling Pink Affair were the latest events supported by over 300 guests - with plans for 2019 events already underway.

“We have a long-standing ethos to support as many local charities as possible, and a long history of supporting breast cancer initiatives,” Mrs Dunn said.

Dr Donaldson said the money raised would be used to “enhance the care of breast cancer patients in Toowoomba and Darling Downs”.

“Whilst it is necessary to devote funding for ongoing research, it’s also important to support those who are in the midst of this illness,” she said.

Planning for 2019 events are well under way. To stay up to date with the upcoming events, follow Blush Cancer Care and Lannah Dunn Fine Jewellery on Facebook and Instagram.
