Zero bores with hilarious Chores

-

PEOPLE of all ages heading to the Curious Arts Festival will enjoy some curious tips on tidying with the quirky acrobatic comedy show, Chores.

The action-packed 60-minute show for kids, performed by Hoopla Clique performers Derek Llewellin and Julian Roberts, includes acrobatics, juggling, unicycling, major flips and acrobalance, all presented with a cheeky comedic twist.

Curious Arts Festival co-director Kirsten Bartholomew said she was thrilled to have the opportunity to include such a unique and fun performance for kids in the festival’s program.

“Chores has been performed all around the world and has won awards and recognition at Prague, Brighton, Edinburgh, Perth and Adelaide Festivals, just to name a few,” she said.

“We’re very proud to have such world-class entertainers joining us for the first Curious Arts Festival in Toowoomba.”

Chores is the story of two brothers hanging out in their messy bedroom when they hear their mum approaching and have to hustle to get their jobs done so they can ride their bicycles.

The physical comedy in the show is suitable for audiences young and old alike and inspired by Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin.

“It’s a show that’s made for children, but there is plenty of hilarity to amuse parents and families too,” Bartholomew said.

“Chores is completely relatable with a comedic, acrobatic twist. It includes the fun of slapstick comedy as well as highly skilled acrobatic skills which appeal to every age group from four to 94.”

There are four shows only across Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16, at the Empire Theatre.
