THE RUBY COLLECTION: A NEW KIND OF ACCOMMODATION

-

The rise of accommodation options such as Airbnb has clearly rattled the hotel industry.

But for all of Airbnb’s benefits there are things you can do at a hotel that you can’t do at an Airbnb, such as order room service in the middle of the night and sip a cocktail by the pool that’s just a short stroll from your room.

That’s where The Ruby Collection comes in. This new resort complex opened its first of what will be four towers in Surfers Paradise in November, at what was the Paradise Resort (the old resort is still there but will be demolished in stages to build the other towers).

The one-bedroom apartment where this reporter stayed featured a massive living space with a comfortable couch, giant TV and a kitchen. The separate bedroom featured a comfortable bed from where you can relax and enjoy views of Surfers Paradise.

The views from the balcony of the Gold Coast hinterland, the Surfers Paradise skyline and the ocean were to die for.

The apartment felt luxurious, but practical, like a home away from home.

The resort also offers a range of activities for all ages, including trivia nights, scavenger hunts and more.

There was room service available from the onsite restaurant (using an innovative tablet system in the room) and a fully stocked bar by the pool.

With apartments of up to three bedrooms, dozens of activities, a water park, a beautiful pool and so much more The Ruby Collection is perfect for all kinds of travellers and offers that perfect balance between a hotel, resort and Airbnb. This reporter stayed at The Ruby Collection as a guest of Tourism and Events Queensland.
