Inner-city practice re-brands

New owner of chiropractic centre

SANDIE Cavanagh has been visiting the same chiropractic centre in town since she was three years old. Now, she owns it.

For more than 50 years the Russell St practice has been known as the Kennedy Chiropractic Centre.

Mrs Cavanagh and her husband Tim bought the business and re-branded, naming it Elevate Chiropractic and Wellness Centre.

“We purchased the business from Tracy Kennedy-Shanks who had bought it from her father Hart Kennedy. Both of them still work in the practice,” she said.

“It has taken a while for me to re-brand as I have two small children. I couldn’t have done it without the help of my amazing team, especially Carolyn who does all the behind-thescenes work that I can’t get to.”

Mrs Cavanagh worked at the centre as a chiropractic assistant when she began studying pre-chiropractic at the University of Southern Queensland in 2006.

After four years at the New Zealand Chiropractic College she returned in 2011.

Elevate offers gentle lowforce chiropractic and a few of the chiropractors also use manual techniques for those who prefer it.

Nutritional therapy practitioner Amanda Ford, from Cascade Wellness, is also working out of the centre.

Mrs Cavanagh said she saw people for many different reasons, from the very young to the elderly.

Elevate Chiropractic and Wellness Centre is open from Monday to Saturday.
