Putting a special flourish on the perfect wedding day

THEY’RE the wedding and celebration cake-makers who are ready to tackle whatever challenge a soon-to-be-wed couple can throw at them.

Jodi Sibley and Sherri Sutton of So Cakes have almost 30 years combined experience baking and making wedding cakes, and they’re thrilled to host a stall at the Burke and Wills Hotel’s first wedding expo on Saturday, March 16.

The Toowoomba duo will be among more than 15 specialist wedding vendors at the expo, which will double as an opportunity to show off the newly renovated facilities at the hotel - which event manager Gillian Morris said made a superb choice for a wedding venue.

Ms Sibley said the expo would be an opportunity for people to get to know more about what they offered.

“There are not a lot of cake decorators that do the fondant finishes and sugar flowers like we do we’re offering something different, and it’s better for them to see that in person,” she said.

“People are wanting to step away from the traditional weddings, and wanting something different - cakes with wow factor - and we’re ready to tackle whatever challenge they throw at us.”

The event will start at 10am on Saturday at the Burke and Wills Hotel and run until 1pm.

Entry is a gold coin donation, with proceeds given to the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation.
