Grammar students set to showcase their artwork

-

FOR Toowoomba Grammar School student Jacob Bunt, having his work for sale at the school’s Art Show is a “real honour”.

The school’s renowned sale event, which has attracted world-famous artists will return to the school later this month.

“I’ve got numerous works for sale at the Grammar Art Show,” Mr Bunt said.

“Primarily work using pencil drawings. They’re all animal based. I do a lot of fish and frogs.”

“It’s a real honour to be selected for it as a student.”

Before the art show, Mr Bunt will showcase his work at the Toowoomba Grammar School Student Art Show, which opened at the school last night.

A spokeswoman for the school said the Student Art Show exhibited the best work submitted by students in Years 7 to 12 last year.

“Their work provides a unique insight into the mind of a teenage boy and reveals the confusion, challenges and triumphs they face, with this raw emotion depicted through a wide variety of mediums including photography, sculpture, painting and audio visual,” she said.

“The pieces are beautiful, confronting and many are well beyond the years of experience of the young hands that created them.”

The student show will remain open until the end of the main Grammar Art Show on March 31.

The main show runs from March 30 to 31.
