FROM THE STAND

-

Race 1: Here there was good support for Clockwise at $7.50. The connections were on Global Factor. Vibrato was hard to lay and the bookies were $2.80 at jump time, with the QOP at $2.40. The winner McKinlay Miss was hard to lay also and the bookies broke square on the race. Race 2: There was specking for Black Crusade at $11. The connections were again on Stormy Grey. The favourite Star Adele was easy enough to lay at $3.50. The winner in Alaska was a good winner for the bookies and paid overs on the tote. Race 3: Here they wanted to back most of the runners. There was good each-way bets for Run The Cutter at $21 and Miss Macpherson saw $300 each-way at $8. There was no money for American Crown. The punters were happy to take the shorts on Kings Lady and they were lined up to collect at the 100m mark. Race 4: Punters only wanted the favourite and winner here in Want To Bolt and the $1.80 went off quickly with cash bets and there was one good phone bet of $2000 at $1.60.

Race 5: There was small each way money for Cambooya Rock at $11. There was plenty of interest at $1.50 for Eight Over. There was a cash bet of $2000 at the $1.50 and a phone bet of $2000 at the $1.50. Punters had it right here again and Eight Over lead from barriers to the post for an easy win.

Race 6: The connections were on Mendelssohn at $12. Punters and the bookies had their concerns about Namib and there was $4 bet on a $3 call. Namib showed the others a clean pair of heels to give Ben Currie four winners for the night. Race 7: A lack-lustre betting race with no real bets taken. The favourite in Pistolero was $1.25 on track with only small bets taken at the shorts. When they left the barriers it was all over and Pistolero cantered home with no opposition.
