AMIE Johnson is responsible for bringing some of the biggest and best foodie events to Toowoomba.

Ms Johnson started The Original Mix Co four years ago as a collaboration specialising in pop-up events, the promotion of emerging designers, artists and visual creators.

It’s best known for hosting food-based events in Toowoomba such as Dine Down Town, Brews and Barbie Bash and Bites and Beats.

Tens of thousands of people have enjoyed events held by Ms Johnson over the years, but now she is stepping down as the owner of the business.

The Original Mix Co is under new ownership, and while the transition period is happening, the new owners are not known.

Ms Johnson said it was time to move on after taking on a full-time job and spending more time with family.

“As my time has become increasingly limited due to taking on a full-time job, along with family commitment I hadn’t been able to dedicate enough time into the business to continue its growth and momentum.

“I’m sure everyone will be pleased to know that a group of business owners from Toowoomba have purchased my business and have grand plans for the future.”

Ms Johnson isn’t completely disappearing from the hospitality and events scene, she will still be operating a coffee van at different events around town.

She said she wanted to thank the stall holders who continuously took part in her events as well as the community for its support.

“Without your continued support The Original Mix Co would not be where it is today,” she said.

“I hope to see you all at the next market.”
