Still time to sign up for military challenge

-

THE countdown is on to this year’s Milne Bay Military Challenge, and Vanguard Laundry Services managing director and founder Luke Terry is looking forward to the big day.

Vanguard Laundry Services is not just the principal benefactor from this year’s charity endurance run, organised by the Rotary Club of Toowoomba South and Rotary Edge.

Mr Terry’s staff have already entered three teams, and he’s encouraging others to do the same.

“I think taking part in the MBMC run is a chance to be able to change the lives of those in the community that might not be able to have had a chance otherwise,” Mr Terry said.

“And by you doing it, helps others, it’s not just about giving people a hand-out but about giving people a hand-up.”

Formerly known as the Kokoda Challenge, hundreds of people have already signed up to take on the picturesque trails of Redwood and Jubilee Parks for the 7/15/30km charity trail run on April 28.

As well as Vanguard Laundry Services, funds raised will be donated to the Rotary Foundation.

trains and supports people with a lived experience of mental illness, allowing them to get back into work and then onto other jobs, careers, and education.

Money from the MBMC will be invested into Vanguard’s careers centre – a key function of the organisation’s support work.

MBMC race director Tressa Lindenberg said this year’s race was shaping up to be a great event, and would not be possible without the sponsors who had come on board – including principal sponsor Hutchinson Builders.

Individuals and teams competing in the race will each have unique timing chips, allowing competitors to monitor their own pace, and compare themselves to others after the race.
