WHEN children first start school, many parents swell with pride or even shed a few tears, but either way it’s a milestone they’ll remember for life.

And, each year The Chronicle marks the occasion with our photographers spending a month visiting the region’s schools taking photos of the newest Prep students.

My First Year 2019 is a free lift-out which will feature in The Chronicle on Wednesday, March 27.

Each year the My First Year edition of the newspaper sends parents and grandparents into a frenzy, with newsagents often selling out.

The lift-out features 72 schools from Toowoomba, the Lockyer Valley and Darling Downs.

Throughout the month of February, our photographers Bev Lacey, Nev Madsen and Kevin Farmer spent their mornings visiting the region’s schools and snapping photos that parents can cherish forever.

From large groups to classes with only one student, our hard-working photographers came up with creative ways to make the photos fun.

It has taken weeks of solid work to put together and next week the lift-out will be published and printed.

If you haven’t reserved your copy, do it now at your nearest newsagent.

Reserve your copy of My First Year 2019, out on Wednesday, March 27.
