Sharks set out to defend their title

-

TOUCH: Toowoomba’s touch football stars are ready for another season of fast-paced play.

The new season kicks-off this Sunday before regular ‘Saturday service’ resumes after local softball finals are completed.

Saints begin the season in unfamiliar circumstances when they face Sharks in Agrade men’s action.

For the first time in many years, they will not start as defending premiers after losing last year’s final to Sharks.

Keen to avenge their defeat, Saints could also go into the game without club stalwart Troy Morgan, who is rumoured to be lining up in Bgrade this season, however they are expected to welcome back Queensland representative Tom Quinlivan.

In other A-grade men’s fixtures, Rebels Hurricanes play Royals and Roosters are up against Lions.

In the women’s A-grade competition, a new team will be welcomed onto the field.

For the first time in their club’s history, Royals will field an A-grade team – their first assignment a clash with young guns, Fairholme.

Royals have recruited well and will fancy their chances against a Fairholme team missing Georgina Rackemann.

Rackemann has moved to Saints who will play defending premiers Roosters.

Saints will be further boosted by the addition of Jada Ferguson who will play against her former team mates for the first time.

The other match sees Rebels Hurricanes playing last years runners-up Sharks with Lions having the bye.
