WHEN customers visit Westridge Fruit and Vegetables they are greeted by smiling, friendly faces and staff who go above and beyond.

Exceptional customer service is something all businesses should strive for, and owners Luke and Matthew Boulus know just how important it is.

The Chronicle is running its Best of Toowoomba 2019 series, and put a call out to find the business which offers the best customer service.

Westridge Fruit and Vegetables came out on top, with customers praising the small family-run business.

The Boulus brothers have been operating the store for 12 years and Luke said the pair prided themselves on having great customer service.

“We always put our best foot forward and our staff treat all customers like family,” he said.

“We have great product knowledge, can help customers choose the right fruit and veg, and can also share how to cook and use different products.”

Westridge Fruit and Vegetables sources as much of its product locally as possible, and otherwise heads to the Brisbane markets to personally hand pick other items which can’t be sourced in the region.

“Our high-quality fruit and vegetables, cheap prices and great customer service gives us a competitive advantage,” Luke said.

“People who live locally are our biggest customers, but we also have people who travel from other parts of town to shop with us.”

Luke said he was grateful for all the people who took the time to vote.

“It is a really big honour to take out this title, and we just want to thank everyone who nominated and voted for us,” he said.

Westridge Shopping Centre is home to a number of Best of Toowoomba series winners, with the centre known for its high-quality businesses.

Pure Hair has been named the best hairdresser for four years in a row, Beauty with Perfection took out best beauty salon in 2018, and Westridge Meats was voted as being the best butcher and having the best pies in town last year.
