O’Sullivan claims top gong at TRL awards night
Pittsworth’s Tom O’Sullivan has been awarded the Toowoomba Rugby League’s top individual honour at its presentation evening last night.
The halfback was named as the Price/Webcke Medal winner for 2019 as A-grade player of the year.
In a tough season for the Danes, O’Sullivan was a clear standout on a regular basis, playing all 16 games and taking out the title as Pittsworth’s leading try scorer for 2019. He also collected the Frank Purcell Memorial Trophy for most points throughout all grades.
Valleys were among the clubs strongly represented, with Cory McGrady’s Queensland Rangers selection helping him to the Kuhnemann/Platz Medal for representative player of the year, while the Roosters also took out the club championship.
Their opponents in tomorrow’s preliminary final, Wattles, also finished in the medals, with Nick van der Poel collecting U20s rep player of the year, Dale Perkins taking home the Ross Burke Medal and Glyn Ress named as club person of the year.
Brothers’ Tom Taylor took out colt of the year honours, with Goondiwindi’s Connor Clement earning U18s rep player of the year honours. TRL AWARD WINNERS Under 18 Representative Player of the Year: Connor Clement (Goondiwindi) Under 20 Representative Player of the Year: Nick van
