‘Landmark’ build begins
THE walls have started to go up on a “landmark” residential tower close to Toowoomba’s CBD, ahead of a major national advertising campaign that starts soon.
Hutchinson Builders has made short work of a foundations of Inspire South Central, the Barry Bernoth-funded sixstorey development on Ruthven St in south Toowoomba.
The 25-unit tower will also include office space on the first floor along with a cafe and retail spaces on the ground floor.
LJ Hooker Toowoomba’s chief operating officer Jeremy Lewis said it had been amazing to watch the progress of the development, which started construction in June.
“In less than six months, we’re going to be bringing to life a landmark building in Toowoomba that is going to change the way residential living occurs in this city,” he said.
“I think residential diversification is important for the growth of a town.
“Inspire South Central is that diversification – it’s not going to appeal to every residential buyer, but it will cater to the right buyer who wants an inner-city hub that is close to all the amenities.
“I think it’s very impressive, and quite visually appealing – I’m in awe of something like this being built in Toowoomba.”
Mr Lewis said the agency was likely to head to the market with a national campaign in either October or November, depending on timing matters.
“We’ve had a solid amount of inquiries from local interest as well as non-local he said.
“We’re also starting to get more interest and inquiries based on the construction work. interest,”
“Once we launch in October hopefully, Hutchies have said we’ll be able to show people what the perspective is from the first floor.”
Mr Bernoth said the project, which had been in the making for years, was exceeding expectations.
“We have had a presence in this part of Toowoomba for over 40 years and have seen significant growth over this time. It’s rewarding and exciting to see this addition,” he said.
The building is expected to be finished in May 2020.
