Make-up and hair tips for Spring Polo

-

EXCITEMENT is building for Spring Polo this month, a huge event on the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers calendar.

This year the Spring Polo, held on Saturday, September 28, will feature two polo matches, field side champagne, live music and delicious food at Queens Park.

If you’re heading to the polo and are starting to think about how to style yourself, here’s some handy tips from Toowoomba make-up and hair experts.

MAKE-UP TIPS FROM PRICELINE

AS Spring Polo is held in one of the warmer seasons of the year, when it comes to makeup it is key to prep, prime and set.

Priceline Grand Central make-up expert Sarah Breydon said she had a number of tips for Spring Polo make-up success.

“Prepping and priming your skin for a make-up application not only makes the products sit better, but stay and appear better,” she said.

“Prepping your skin with the right skincare products is key.”

Ms Breydon said using a setting spray such as a NYX Dewy would weightlessly set your make-up, helping it last all day and night.

“Add a touch of colour. Personally, I love to add soft colours such as Napoleon Perdis blush patrol and Nude by Nature creamy matte lipstick in 01 blush nude which complements all skin tones,” she said.

For any other make-up tips ahead of the big day you can visit Ms Breydon at Priceline on level two of Grand Central.

If you’re heading to Spring Polo, you can also visit the Priceline Pharmacy Beauty Tent for a complimentary freshen up.

They’ll be touching up make-up, will have sunscreen handy, and also have Hydralyte shots.

HAIR STYLING TIPS FROM PRICE ATTACK

IT’S all about the soft curls, soft messy up-style and high ponytail for the Spring Polo.

Price Attack’s Ali Barker said women couldn’t go wrong with one of these styles.

“For longer lasting soft curls, always prep your hair with a thermal curl spray such as AG gel spray before using your curl stick or straightener,” she said.

“To prep for a high pony, use a dry shampoo to give grip when putting your hair up, and always finish with a good anti humidity hair spray like AG Frizz-Proof.”

Ms Barker said for upstyles, always remember to wash your hair the day before, not the day of your appointment.

“Another massive trend this season is incorporating hair accessories to dress up your look. Think clips, headbands and scarves,” she said.

Price Attack is located on level two of Grand Central.
