Toddler’s after dinner mince

-

DEDICATED Toowoomba grandmother does her best to keep her prized grandchild from spending too much time in child care, but every now and then she wonders about her sanity levels in offering to help out.

Said prized grandchild recently reached the age where she has picked up an impressive array of uncoordinated dance moves inspired by the Wiggles, a development that has caused much mirth for her doting grandies.

Thinking she was being a superma, she put on the Wiggles and served up lunch, a delicious bowl of home-cooked savoury mince.

Unfortunately, the Wiggles’ hit Do The Propeller came on just after lunch was served.

Whispers has it on good authority that the savoury mince is still being cleaned off walls, ceilings and curtains.

KANGAROO COURT

DESPITE what some offenders might have contended over the years, Toowoomba’s courts have always been fair and understanding.

However, that all changed this week when a Whispers operative put forward a very good argument that a certain Toowoomba court was indeed a Kangaroo Court.

Among the public gallery in Courtroom 5 during a District Court hearing was a group of people and three joey kangaroos in their care.

Just what the baby roos were doing there remains a mystery to Whispers though one wag suggested they may have been for rebounding evidence.

POET IN MAKING?

PRIMARY school lad returned home with spelling homework for which he had to write sentences.

Having a touch of youthful writer’s block, he sought counsel from his mother who suggested he write about what he knew and what he found amusing.

The word he was to include in the sentence was “pedestrian”.

His effort was sent into Whispers Central, it read: “The pedestrian farted and flew up in the air.”

Good to see schoolboy humour is still alive and well.

SINGIN’ ON A PRAYER

EVERYONE has their go-to karaoke song, or that one musical hit they can’t help but bust a move to after a few coldies on a night out with friends.

For one city lass, there’s a pending video compilation of her dancing and singing efforts after earning the enviable but unaccredited reputation of the best Livin’ on a Prayer pub singer in the southern hemisphere.

And there’s at least an hour of her renditions of the Bon Jovi hit, the latest of which was filmed at a fancy late-night shindig celebrating a friend’s hen’s party late in Brisbane.
