BIBLE THOUGHT

- HAVE YOUR SAY thechronicle.com.au

“For as the lightning, that lightens out of the one part under heaven, shines to the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.” (Luke 17:24-25 AKJV)

Jesus is coming back. Are you ready? interchange?”

Now that it is known where a new suburb behind the Mount Kynoch Water Treatment Plant is proposed (see Tom Gillispie’s article TC, 19/12), “it would seem sensible to develop the Highwinds/Tomson Rds turning into Old Goombungee Road at the Weale St intersection. This will also allow residents in Meringandan through to Goombungee direct access to the bypass”.

Forcing northern New England Highway residents to go four kilometres out of their way to travel down to Griffiths St just before the Railway near the Blue Mountain Pub, not only seems ridiculous, but will add to traffic congestion. One objection to this suggestion was that the area floods. I say, it so seldom floods so why bring that furphy up and make that an excuse to do nothing?

RIBBON CUTTING

FULL credit to all those who were involved for all that time in creating our incredible new bypass.

On Monday I drove down from Mort St to Helidon and back and was amazed at the views of what had been accomplished. We’d all seen the viaduct from a distance and used the twin bridges for some time too, but the work done on the road works east of the viaduct was something else.

I will never forget that drive and what it means to all the drivers of the future who will use it.

However, I was disappointed that your newspaper didn’t have a photo of the actual cutting of the ribbon on opening day and also I haven’t seen any photos of some of the works as the bypass goes east. This was an historic event for Toowoomba and I feel sure everyone who travels east on the bypass will marvel at the work that has been achieved.

AMAZON FIRES

HOW low will leaders like Emmanuel Macron go?

He accuses Jair Bolsonaro (recently elected leader in Brazil) of being responsible for the fires in the Amazon, through his defiance of the Paris Agreement con.

NASA satellite evidence reports daily that said fires are close to the least voluminous on record. Then we see photographic “evidence” of a large, destructive fire displayed on most news outlets, supposedly portraying one of these fires. It was of an Amazon fire, but just happened to be taken 20 years ago.

How credulous do these global warming zealots think we are to believe this nonsense that they dish up day after day?

CAR FOUND

RECENTLY, I found myself hopelessly lost and shuffling around in the “bowels” of the Grand Central car park. I was rescued by a very kind and generous lady who spent more than an hour driving around from floor to floor with the sketchy details I was able to provide for her.

I don’t remember getting her name when we parted company at the information desk. She had to get back to work.

The kindness and caring shown by the staff at the information desk is another story again. I was driven to find my car. But this was thanks to the generous blonde lady who saw my need and was determined to help.

I will never forget you.
