STOP THEM STEALING DREAMS

-

IT’S time to name the dream stealers. Time to shame the kind of reckless activists who make children like Greta Thunberg cry.

“You have stolen my dreams,” the 16-year-old messiah of global warming sobbed last week, after being pushed on to a United Nations podium.

This is evil. We cannot allow professional fearmongers to terrorise children with fake claims about the end of the world and then make a PR spectacle of their tears.

Hold them to account, starting with these 10 names.

David Attenborough, nature filmmaker: “If we don’t take action the collapse of our civilisations and the extinction of much of the natural world is on the horizon.”

Tim Flannery, Climate Council: “Mass deaths are predicted. My children … will probably live to be part of that grim winnowing.”

Jonathan Franzen, novelist: “If you’re younger than 60, you have a good chance of witnessing the radical destabilisation of life on earth — massive crop failures, apocalyptic fires, imploding economies, epic flooding, hundreds of millions of refugees ...”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, US congresswoman: “The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change … This is our World War II.”

Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General: “If we don’t urgently change our ways of life, we jeopardise life itself.”

Richard Di Natale, Greens leader: “This is what we have to do right now to prevent the breakdown of ecosystems, the collapse of entire towns and cities.”

Chris Barrie, former Australian Defence Force chief: “(There is) the real possibility that human life on earth may be on the way to extinction, in the most horrible way.”

James Lovelock, Gaia theorist: “Before this century is over, billions of us will die.” (Note: Lovelock now admits he was “alarmist”.)

Elizabeth Warren, US Democrat presidential frontrunner: “Climate … is the existential threat. It is the one that threatens all life on this planet.”

Extinction Rebellion, activists: “A mass extinction event is under way.”

On my blog I have listed 11 indisputable scientific facts that say, no, global warming won’t kill your child.

For instance, we’re actually getting fewer cyclones, the world’s grain crops set new records, life expectancy has jumped and our chance of being killed in a climate catastrophe has dropped 99 per cent over 100 years.

Don’t let these doom preachers scare your kids. This hysteria must stop.
