A TOOWOOMBA apartment complex is closer to fruition, with the real estate agent looking after the complex saying there will be some movement in the next two to three months.

Winten and Co’s Broc Winten said the development, from developer Marakech, had been renamed from Craigstone to the Bowery Residences.

“We’ve done a little bit of rebranding on the building,” he said.

“We’re changing the name at this stage.

“There’s the perception that (the Bowery Residences) might be a bit more of a groovy name.”

The Bowery Residences will be on the corner of Royal St and Snell St. The building will contain 14 individual units, a swimming pool, a common area, a basement carpark and a gymnasium.

Documents published by TSBE revealed the cost of the project to be about $8 million.

The building, once complete, will overlook the proposed Railyway Parklands.

“That area will ultimately look similar to Southbank in Brisbane,” Mr Winten said.

“With parkland, waterways, and all those coffee shops and restaurants around you.

“The benefits are it’s not in the CBD, so you just won’t be overlooking CBD roofs, it’s a block and a half to Grand Central. It’s in a prime position.”

Mr Winten said they hoped to “test the market” in the next two to three months.

“It’s a groovy building,” Mr Winten said.

“We spent a lot of time to try and get something a bit different and meaningful.

“We’re lining our ducks up to do something in the next little while.”
