BIBLE THOUGHT

-

“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.” (Luke 23:34 AKJV)

God can and will forgive us too as we confess our sins and turn to Him for forgiveness. paid out of my own pocket. Plus the amount for physiotherapy allowed was pathetic so a couple thousand more was paid out of my own pocket.

My husband had a bad fall from a roof and ended up as a paraplegic. Private health insurance did not even pay for a wheelchair nor transportation when discharged from hospital and needing to go to medical appointments.

I had a tubal ligation so clearly could not fall pregnant yet I could not remove that from my insurance and reduce the premium. So goodbye to private health cover, it is a rip-off.

Then I was diagnosed with a terminal hepatocellular cancer and the public health system was fantastic. Just to top things off, I had a stroke while in hospital and when I was discharged was given a wheelie walker and the loan of an armchair that at the press of a button would rise and deposit me on my feet.

Clearly I am still alive even though the oral chemotherapy was to be palliative only. I have a daughter who I recommended to stay in private health insurance as she married and had two children so it was very helpful for her and will be until her children are of an age to pay their own health insurance if they wish.

Is it any wonder that people are leaving the private health insurance system in droves when the horror stories of blatant overcharging and insufficient covering on allied health service is allowed to persist? This is a badly broken system that needs to be fixed and I have nothing but the utmost praise for the public health system.
