HERE’S CHEERS TO NEW STREET FOOD FESTIVAL

- MEGHAN HARRIS

A TAVERN will be transformed this weekend, as it hosts the 2019 Toowoomba Street Food Festival.

The Design Collective Markets and Events is known for hosting incredible pop-up events across Queensland, and is working with the Westbrook Tavern to bring the food festival to life.

Held on Sunday from 2-8pm, there will be something for everyone with food trucks, pop-up bars, live music and free kids activities.

While the list of food and drink vendors are being mostly kept under wraps the official event page shows we can expect and array of food with churros, waffles, burgers and taco bowls.

Westbrook Tavern duty manager Jasmin Nisar said many of the food trucks had never been to Toowoomba before and attendees were in for a treat.

“The food is honestly going to be amazing, people are going to love it. I am really excited because Toowoomba hasn’t had anything like this before,” she said.

“The idea is two businesses are working together, and

people will be able to flow in and out of the venue to see what our tavern has to offer as well as try all the different food that will be here for the day.

“It will be a real family day too with kids activities, and we’ll also have live music.”

Ms Nisar said she expected the event to be a huge hit.

“We have thousands of people say they are interested or attending,” she said.

“It’ll be a great day to get together with a group of friends or your family try some new food, have a few cold drinks and just relax.” Entry is free. Search Toowoomba Street Food Festival 2019 Beer, Eats and Live Music on Facebook.
