Future of business in doubt

THE future of a Draytonbased transport company is in doubt after it was placed in voluntary administration this week.

Administrators Steve Naidenov and Vincent Pirina of Sydney’s Veritas Advisory took over the running of Cattletrans Pty Ltd, better known as Robertson’s Transport, on Wednesday.

A meeting of creditors of the 27-year-old family-owned business has been scheduled for 12.30pm on Thursday, October 24, at The Heritage Room, Quest Toowoomba.

The meeting will consider whether to appoint a committee of inspection.

Creditors will also be able to decide whether to remove the administrators from office or appoint someone else as administrator of the company.

The appointment of administrators comes just under a year after the Australian Taxation Office applied to the Federal Court in Brisbane to wind up the company.

That application, lodged in December 2018, was dismissed in February this year.

The next month, auctioneer Liquid Asset Management hosted a simultaneous online and on-site auction of a number of pieces of the company’s machinery, including trucks, trailers, low loaders and dollies.

An advertisement for the auction said Liquid Asset Management were “under instructions from the directors of Robertson’s Transport, who are restructuring their business”.

Mr Naidenov and Pirina were contacted for comment but did not respond in time.
