Legend here for lunch
TOOWOOMBA real estate agency McGrath, will host cricketing great Steve Waugh at a special charity lunch on Thursday, October 31.
The lunch is designed to help raise awareness, funds and the spirits of children and young adults affected by rare diseases.
To be held at Fitzy’s, the Long Lunch will feature a lunch with drinks included, with tickets priced at $175 per person.
McGrath CEO Geoff Lucas said the team was thrilled to work with such a high-impact foundation.
“Steve Waugh is a national icon and when he stepped up to raise money for kids with rare diseases we at McGrath wanted to join him,” he said
“We are overwhelmed with emotion to see the real and enormous impact Steve’s foundation has had on the lives of beneficiary families and it is the most worthy charity we have ever seen”, he added.
The Long Lunch, to be held between 1pm and 4pm, will feature Steve talking about both the foundation he created but also his amazing career as one Australia’s best batsmen, captains and leaders.
The lunch will also feature a unique charity auction and raffle, providing much needed funds to help the families impacted by the increasing number of rare diseases affecting them.
Members of the McGrath team attending the lunch will be CEO of McGrath Geoff Lucas, Max Wylie (McGrath auctioneer) and McGrath Toowomba franchisee Toby Sandell.
The three men will also be riding in the annual ‘The Captain’s Ride’ to raise money for the Steve Waugh Foundation, which will be starting from Toowoomba on Monday November 4.
In keeping with Steve’s motto of “always 100%” the ride is an arduous 850km over six days and climbs over 8000 vertical metres.
Tickets to the Long Lunch are available online via eventbrite.com.
