PREGNANT for the fourth time and suffering from depression, Toowoomba woman Emma Mogg searched on the internet for a solution.

What she found not only helped her situation, but it also inspired the launch of her own business, Blissful Beyond

Birth, which she started from home in 2016.

Ms Mogg works as a certified placenta art specialist, turning placentas into capsules for mothers to take as a supplement.

“(My colleague) Shelby Duggan and myself are the only certified placenta art specialists in the area,” Ms Mogg said.

“It’s getting more popular.

It’s meant to help with postpartum recovery. Mothers have reported that it’s helped them feel more balanced and helped stop their afterbirth pains.

“The training takes anywhere from six to nine months. There are a lot of safety regulations that we have to follow, such as the safe food side of things and storage.”

From there, Ms Mogg has acquired other businesses in the maternity realm.

She started Full Circle Nurture DNA Jewellery in 2018, creating jewellery and keepsakes from items such as breastmilk, placenta, teeth and hair.

In November 2019, she took on Miracle of Life Toowoomba, a 3D/4D ultrasound business that now has a shopfront at 461 Ruthven St.

“(The ultrasound) is a keepsake experience, you get a beautiful picture and you can see your baby’s features before it is born - it’s like a photo,” she said.
