1. MEN’S CIRCLE AND RUN

WHERE: Park House Cafe

THE Man That Can Project is hosting the perfect event for Toowoomba men feeling a bit run down by life and in need of some healthy time out. Join the group for a 5km walk followed by a coffee and a chat at the Park House Cafe.

The Man That Can Project is all about providing workshops and positive outlets for men struggling with the pressures of career success, family life, emotional problems and positive communicat­ion.

2. BUSHFIRE FUNDRAISER

WHEN: Today and tomorrow, 10am10pm

WHERE: The Southern Hotel

IT HAS been a tough time in Australia with the bushfires. Thousands of hardworkin­g Aussies have been affected and you can do your bit to help while enjoying a hard-earned beer.

Every dollar from specially marked VB kegs will be donated to the Rotary Clubs of Australia Bushfire Disaster Fund, administer­ed by the Bendigo Bank’s Community Enterprise Foundation.

3. HOTTEST 100 PARTY

WHEN: Today, from 11am

WHERE: The Spotted Cow

GET into the long weekend spirit with the Spotted Cow and the world’s biggest music democracy, the Triple J Hottest 100.

Pub favourite Sweet Lipp, along with a few other acts, will take up the entertainm­ent mantle long into the night once the countdown wraps up. Gold coin donation at the door, with all money raised going to the Rural Fire

Service.

There will also be in-house competitio­ns, a selection of craft beers and more.

4. DRESS-UP PARK RUN

WHEN: Today, 7am

WHERE: Middle Ridge Park, Stenner St

SOUTH Toowoomba Park Run is hosting its first dress-up run in honour of Australia Day, so throw on your most Aussie outfit and join the fun. Park Run is a free, weekly, timed 5km walk, jog or run suitable for all ages and abilities.

5. WESTERN RIVERS CUP

WHEN: Today, from 8.30am WHERE: Captain Cook Park, Bridge St, Wilsonton

Western Rivers Cup is southwest Queensland’s only indigenous regional cricket carnival and it’s shaping up to be a great day out for Toowoomba families.

Enjoy watching some deadly cricket as the men’s and women’s teams battle it out in the fast eight overs carnival. There will be amusement rides for the kids as well.

6. SKATEBOARD­ING WORKSHOP

WHEN: Today, 3pm-5pm

WHERE: Harlaxton Park, Flynn St GOT a new skateboard for Christmas and haven’t yet mastered it or you’re already pretty good but want tips on how to learn a particular trick?

Come along to Australian Skateboard­ing’s free Learn to Skateboard Workshop at Harlaxton. Register to attend at www.australian­skateboard­ing.com.

7. AUSTRALIA DAY TOOWOOMBA

WHEN: Tomorrow, 8am

WHERE: Picnic Point

JOIN the fun of Toowoomba’s official Australia Day Celebratio­ns. Proceeding­s kick off at 8am, with the awards ceremony scheduled for 9am. The program wraps up around noon. Other activities on the day include a rock climbing wall, big slide, jumping castle and train, flag tattoos, damper, snow cones, fairy floss, tea and lamington cake sales by the Girl Guides, a free sausage sizzle and ice creams.

8. AUSTRALIA DAY HIGHFIELDS

WHEN: Tomorrow, 9am-5pm WHERE: Highfields Pioneer Village CELEBRATE Australia Day and get a dose of pioneer history at the same time.

The program of events begins at 9am with some toe-tapping country music followed by plenty of fascinatin­g demonstrat­ions, tours and activities for the whole family.

The Highfields Australia Day Awards will be on at 2pm, with free billy tea and damper from 2.30pm. Festivitie­s will continue until 5pm with Bush Band Entertainm­ent.

Standard entry fees apply for the full day program, while those attending from 1.30pm can enter free.

9. AUSTRALIA DAY DOWNSSTEAM

WHEN: Tomorrow, 9am-3pm WHERE: DownsSteam, 16 Cambooya St, Drayton DOWNSSTEAM Tourist Railway and Museum invites you to a great family day of activities and entertainm­ent for Australia Day at the Drayton station and workshop precinct.

Site entry is by donation to the wishing well in the shed at the entry. Ceremonial flag raising will take place at 11.30am.

Toowoomba Ukulele group will provide some tunes on the Drayton Platform from 10.30am-1.30pm. Free face painting from 10am.

10. BUNNYCONNE­LLEN BASH

WHEN: Tomorrow, 1pm-6pm WHERE: Bunnyconne­llen, 286 Swain Rd, Plainby

CELEBRATE all things Australian in style at Bunnyconne­llen Olive Grove and Vineyard.

There will be live Aussie music, a homegrown lamb on the spit and plenty of good company. Standard tickets include true blue Aussie cuisine, including a hearty meal, damper and dessert, a drink ticket with a Crows Nest soft drink for the kids, entertainm­ent and a lucky door prize draw.
