Mets look to change their TCI fortunes
CRICKET: MetropolitanEasts is hoping to turn a minor form slump around as the TCI A-grade competition heads into the final four rounds.
After leading the competition through the early stages due to their stellar HardingMadsen Shield results, the Trojans have dropped back into third place.
With a tough run home, including coming up against the top-two sides in the final two rounds, they are determined to get back on track at home to Southern Districts this weekend, in what is the only regular season round where both games will be played on Saturday and Sunday.
The game of the round takes place at Heritage Oval when ladder leaders Western Districts play host to secondplaced Northern Brothers Diggers.
A big win by Diggers last round saw them leapfrog the Trojans into second spot.
If they were to secure another win this weekend, it would further close the deficit at the top of the standings.
The weekend’s final match shapes as an important one for both Highfields-Railways and University at Highfields Sports Park.
The pair are on the outside of the finals race looking in and the moment, however third spot is still within reach.
University will take plenty of confidence after a big win over Southern Districts at their last outing.
