THE TERRITORY

DARWIN WAS AN IDEAL PLACE FOR REGIONAL MANAGER STEVE LINDSAY AND HIS FAMILY TO THRIVE AND GROW.

-

When Steve Lindsay was offered the role of Regional Manager of Kinetic IT — a cybercrime security service in Darwin — he jumped at the opportunity. And why wouldn’t he?

After years of living in the busy colder climates of Hobart, he moved north to the land of opportunity, where the lifestyle is second to none and the people are the friendliest in Australia.

“I travelled to Darwin with my wife, Val, one year earlier to see what the Territory was like,” Mr Lindsay said.

“We were sitting at Crustaceans on the Wharf on a Saturday night eating a seafood platter while watching the sunset and realised this was the life for us.”

WORKING IN THE TERRITORY

Mr Lindsay spent his years working for Betfair, an online wagering company, before he seized the opportunity to work for Kinetic IT in Darwin.

“As a Regional Manager, I represent all Kinetic IT’s activities in the Territory and also work as an Account Director on major outsourcing contracts while helping to grow the business,” Mr Lindsay said.

He said one of the highlights of his job is getting out and meeting students in the Territory.

“It’s great to give them advice on how they can enter the Information Technology industry,” Mr Lindsay said.

He believes a proper work-life balance is one of the great benefits of living in Darwin.

“A career move to the Territory is a leap everyone should take,” Mr Lindsay said.

“Come with an open-mind and be willing to try something different.

“The more you are willing to try, the more you will get out of living here.”

GROWING IN THE TERRITORY

Prior to moving to Darwin, Mr Lindsay and his family lived in the windy city of Hobart.

“It was too cold during winter and the weather can change so quickly,” he said.

“Moving to the Territory, we love the tropical conditions, especially during the dry season. The laid back approach is a great way of life.

“My wife and step-son came to Darwin with me and have benefited by having more quality time together, as well as great opportunities to travel both within the Northern Territory and Asia.”

Mr Lindsay and his wife, Val, relish in Darwin’s relaxed lifestyle.

The couple believe that living and working in the Territory presents great opportunities for those seeking something new or different in their career — at any stage of their life.

“The Territory really is the place of opportunity,” Mr Lindsay said.
