AFTER THE LAST

-

THE WIN FACTORY WARRIOR

showed why trainer Mark Currie has a big opinion of him, with Josh Oliver pushing the button at the 600m and coasting away to win the Class 3 by four lengths.

Race 1: Opening with a Benchmark 58 and not a lot of bets written. There were also cash bets each way for Drum Master at $6.50. Golden Symphony was impossible to lay. The winner Loveson was the big mover on the QOP $6 into start $4.20. The track bookies were lucky that no money made it back to the track.

Race 2: Punters stepped into Love Yers All at $2.80. There were cash bets at $2.80 and a phone bet of $1000 at the $2.80. Semaphore Girl was $7 into $5 with small cash support. The winner Dancing Angel was $8 and a few keen punters saw the big drop in weight and got the chocolates.

Race 3: There were good each way bets taken on Westbrook Warrior at $10. The connections were strong on the chances of Murlees and stepped in at $5. Cash punters were on the favourite and winner Factory Warrior, $3.30 into start a red hot $2.30. There was a phone bet of $1500 at $2.50 and this result was very bad for the bookies.

Race 4: Here the betting was restricted with all the interest on Motomiss. The tip was on every corner and there were rumours of as much as $7 bet pre-post. But the yard watchers were not that impressed. The connections backed Exceedingly Mehga late and may be one for the future. The winner Miss Dynamic was a drifter and started at $6 and paid overs on the tote.

Race 5: A bit more interest in this maiden; early specking for Ambiguous. Knucklebox was a drifter and hard to lay and the track bookies were $4 with no takers. The favourite and winner Crystal Helmet was easy to lay and the early $2 was snapped up. Josh Oliver rode the horse a treat and the punters were back on track.

Race 6: In this maiden the punters could not get a lead and the betting was $5 the field. The winner Jabalic was resuming and the light weight of 52kg was a luxury and there was specking and the SP was 31 after 51 bet early.

Race 7: The tip was again big for I’m Callin’ Dibs and it was backed $2.30 into start $1.80. There were small cash bets taken on track and a phone bet of $1500 at $2. Connections were keen on Divine Ascot and there were good each way bets taken and maybe one for next time. The winner Last Edition was steady at $6.50 and Josh Oliver was the punter’s pin up jockey. The bookies went home small winners on the night.
