Local business showcases in Sydney

-

TOOWOOMBA organic skincare business Athonika, was recently invited to showcase its products at an International Women’s Day event in Sydney.

Founder and director Sheryl Gillies said she was humbled that Athonika had been recognised nationally as a female-founded business that provides luxury, salon-quality results skincare and cosmetics.

“We pride ourselves on the fact that our products are affordable because we believe that everyone deserves to get salon-quality results that are safe and beneficial for them and their family,” Ms Gillies said.

“The organisers of the event had heard about our number-one selling lip balm and the strong values we hold in protecting the environment through our sustainable, eco-friendly practices and ethical sourcing of product.

“We have been overwhelmed by support not only from our local customers but also nationally.”

As a beauty therapist and running her own salon, Ms Gillies witnessed daily the transformational journeys of her clients from the ‘inside-out’.

She realised that her clients didn’t just come to her wanting to look good but more importantly, to feel good too.

Ms Gillies tried using organic products but found that they didn’t yield the same salon wielding results as products that had synthetic ingredients.

She made it her mission to produce the best product in every possible aspect.

“We understand that people just want a product that works and gives the results that they claim,” she said.

“We know that their customers are concerned about the mineral oils that are in lip balms and the detrimental effects that this can wreak on their health.

“We have listened to the needs of the market and have created a functional lip balm using packaging that protects the environment and helps improve the lives of the people from where the ingredients are ethically sourced.

“Our lip balm is affordable because everyone deserves to be able to access luxury, that protects and nourishes, in their life.

“The team at Athonika are obsessed with providing products that are of premium quality and healthy for their clients.”

The packaging is 100% recyclable, and all ingredients are COSMOS certified approved, which means the product meets the highly coveted COSMOS standard.

Ms Gillies is looking forward to expanding her organic skincare range later this year and is proud to be a local businesswoman creating a positive impact on a national scale.
