Building on hard work for dynamic region

-

I HAVE nominated for reelection to Council to build on the hard work done to date, continuing to deliver great outcomes for our dynamic region.

Since being elected in 2012, I have overseen the Water, Sewerage and Waste Portfolio, an important arm of Council’s business, which includes: Ensuring sustainable and safe drinking water; Developing future water needs – our current water security for the Toowoomba Bulk Water Supply is out to 2049; Maintaining and expanding our sewerage infrastructure; Continually increasing sound environmental outcomes for our regions waste;

I chair LGAQ Waste and Environmental Health Advisory Group and am a member of: Council of Mayors (COMSEQ) Waste Committee SEQ Catchments – protecting and restoring our natural resources Cambooya Landcare Association – protecting, conserving and rehabilitating the environment Arrow Energy and New Acland Community Reference Groups – providing input on community views and hear first-hand what is happening on the ground I’m originally from Cunnamulla, off a sheep, cattle and lucerne property.

Out there, like here, I was involved in my community – president of P&F, wool steward at Cunnamulla Show, treasurer of local Polo Club.

Moving to Toowoomba in 1994, I became involved with my children’s schools, Zonta, YWCA and the Chamber of Commerce while developing my marketing career.

While I now live in the city, my rural background has placed me in good stead to genuinely represent the diversity of such a complex region.

I’ve worked hard for you, please consider a vote for me.
