Community first for local candidate

-

I HAVE lived in this beautiful region for the last 25 years.

I have been a part of this community through the good times and the hard times.

In the past eight years I have worked for council in the customer service centre.

I have listened and responded to almost 45,000 calls within that time: I have been listening to the community’s concerns and frustrations; I have heard what impacts you in your day-to-day life.

I can say without reservation that I have listened and I have taken these concerns on board and will put your interests first in council.

My decision to run for council was fuelled by my understanding and agreeance for what you have been saying, and my passion to take your views and implement them in the region.

With your vote, I will be your voice in council chambers.

I will bring common sense, transparency and forward thinking.

I believe the council needs to be more transparent with the community, within its own departments and with developers.

I believe in the importance of communicating better with our community and putting the community’s interest first, with an emphasis on the fact that both urban and regional communities constitute ratepayers. I would like to think that when you and I have moved on, we leave behind something that we can be proud of and be praised for in our forward thinking, for the generations who follow us.
