Virus victim not mourned

-

THE coronavirus has sure killed one thing — the great global warming scare. Global warming is for now dead as an issue.

This virus shows us what a real crisis looks like, compared to a fake one.

There’s no proof that global warming has killed anyone – indeed, food crops have got bigger — but the coronavirus has killed 14,000 people already.

What’s more, the warming scare helped leave us lethally exposed to this virus and worse ones to come.

Five years ago Microsoft founder Bill Gates, whose foundation has donated $170 million to the coronavirus fight, warned that the world was not prepared for exactly such a pandemic.

He said the world had to fund a standing army of virus fighters, more hospitals in the Third World, intensive research and international war-gaming of virus outbreaks.

But that world — or at least its internationalist class — instead wasted trillions of dollars in a so-farfutile attempt to stop a slight warming that seems, if anything, to have been beneficial and may be largely natural. That misdirection of cash has been almost criminal.

The United Nations even drummed up donations — including from Australia — for its $US100 billion Green Climate Fund, but next to nothing for virus research and response. “Climate change is one of the defining issues of our time,” declared Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, boss of the UN’s World Health Organisation, last September.

And when the real issue — this virus — then roared out of China, this same fool attacked the travel bans slapped on China by the United States and Australia, saying they could “have the effect of increasing fear and stigma, with little public health benefit”.

But Ghebreyesus isn’t the only warmist who should now wake up.

Put the deaths to one side. The rest of this catastrophe is what they were pushing on us.

Warming goddess Greta Thunberg urged us to fight global warming by stopping air travel. Done: airlines are grounding thousands of planes.

The warmist Worldwatch Institute demanded we stop the “overconsumption” that was “undermining the natural systems”. Done: millions of people are losing their jobs and stopping their “overconsuming”.

Greenfleet insisted we reduce our “travel miles”. Done: all the people in lockdowns around the world are going nowhere. Like what you now see? Global warming. It’s one more victim of this virus — and the least missed.
