Four Toowoomba restaurants still closed to diners
THESE four restaurants in the Garden City remain closed since COVID-19 restrictions came into place.
The Engine Room cafe
THE Engine Room cafe closed its doors permanently in early April.
After running the cafe for five years, owner Terry Jennings made the heartbreaking decision to permanently close after the impacts of COVID-19 led to him losing 80 per cent of his business.
Mr Jennings thanked the community for their support.
“We’d like to reach out and thank everyone over the last five years for their support,” Mr Jennings said in a video message.
“We’ve had lots of laughs and lots of fun and made so many great friends.”
Pappa Rich
MALAYSIAN restaurant Papa Rich closed its doors on March 30, after opening in the Grand Central dining quarter in August last year.
A post on the restaurant’s Facebook page stated the restaurant would be closed “until further notice”.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have decide to close our doors from Monday 30th March until further notice,” it said.
When The Chronicle contacted Papa Rich about whether they would be reopening a spokeswoman said they preferred not to comment.
The Spotted Cow
THE Spotted Cow, which has been up for sale since March, has no date set to reopen.
Venue owner Mick Coorey could not specify whether the iconic pub would reopen.
“(July 10) is a bit ahead of our schedule with the coronavirus, we won’t be reopening soon,” he said.
Bon Amici
BON Amici Cafe and Wine Bar on Margaret St has been closed since coronavirus restrictions came into play.
The Chronicle attempted to contact owners Vikki Burgess and Wayne Luchterhand, but could not confirm if the cafe would reopen in the future.
