GARDEN FOR GOOD
KINDNESS and exceptional gardening will be the theme of The Chronicle’s Garden for Good, an online event which will be held around the time of Carnival of Flowers.
The event aims to highlight the region’s unique gardens, while encouraging the community to pull together and support each other in these uncertain times.
From July 27 to August 9, Toowoomba gardeners will be invited to submit an online application for participation on thechronicle.com.au, which includes their details, images of their garden, a charity of choice and a little blurb on what makes their garden unique.
From these applications, 10 gardens will be selected and featured in the 2020 COVID-19 safe virtual showcase on the new Garden for Good website.
The event will also allow the public to participate by donating funds to the featured gardener’s charity of choice.
The interactive website, which is to go live in September, will feature immersive video content, beautiful photography and engaging stories from the 10 chosen gardeners.
The Chronicle Garden for Good event will be held in lieu of The Chronicle Garden Competition this year, which had to be reimagined due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event is not a competition but will instead focus on bringing the community together to raise funds for charitable organisations in the region.
