Heard ‘hit Depp to save sister’

- STEPHEN DRILL IN LONDON

AMBER Heard has claimed she punched Johnny Depp to stop him pushing her sister down the stairs, as she said he had allegedly done to English supermodel Kate Moss.

Heard, 34, name-dropped Depp’s former partner Moss as she gave evidence in the Pirates of the Caribbean star’s libel suit over an article that said he was a “wife beater”.

The actor was on the verge of tears as she told how Depp allegedly beat her up on her 30th birthday. “I went to sleep by myself. I was heartbroken,” she said. The next day Heard left to attend the Coachella music festival.

She also angrily denied she had defecated in the couple’s bed. Faeces were found in her bed in her Los Angeles penthouse at 3pm on April 22, 2016, by cleaner Hilda Vargas. Heard said it must have been one of her dogs.

She also dismissed claims she had an affair with Tesla billionaire Elon Musk, and said she was not trying to hide actor James Franco’s face on CCTV when he visited her apartment the day after her marriage ended.

The claims about Depp’s alleged attack on Moss, whom he dated for three years in the 1990s, came during a remarkable day of evidence in London’s High Court.

“I did strike Johnny that day in defence of my sister. He was about to push her down the stairs,” she said.

“I recalled that he (Depp) had pushed a previous girlfriend, Kate Moss, down the stairs. I recalled that information and in a flash I acted in defence of her.”

Eleanor Laws, QC for Depp, challenged Heard on that evidence, claiming she had made it up.
