READY to establish a home base after years on the road in their caravan, Jean and Dawn Rothery visited many over-50s lifestyle resorts before finding the perfect place to call home, GemLife Highfields.

The Rotherys have been keeping a busy schedule since moving to the resort in March with morning bike rides in the parks surrounding their new home and taking part in many of the classes and social clubs on offer.
“I do step classes, water aerobics, Tai Chi, and on Friday afternoons we watch a movie in the cinema.
“I also help out at the bar sometimes and I like taking day trips on the resort’s bus too,” said Mrs Rothery.
“There’s just so much to do and not enough time to do it all.”
Facilities include a fully equipped gym, heated indoor pool, ten-pin bowling alley, tennis court, virtual golf, library, cafe, community garden, art and craft studio, hair salon, games room and much more.
“The friendliness is wonderful and everyone has been so kind,” said Mrs Rothery.
Keen cyclists, the Rotherys also enjoy exploring the numerous cycling paths near the resort.
“It’s such a beautiful area, especially during spring, and there are so many trails to explore.”
Mr and Mrs Rothery said the friendly atmosphere at GemLife made them feel at home the minute they arrived.
