Carnival focus for exhibition

- SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 5 2020 THECHRONICLE.COM.AU

ARTIST Victoria Beths is an emerging artist who a few years ago moved and made Goombungee her home.

Having moved here from the Gold Coast, both Victoria and her husband love the country life.

“Deciding to pursue an art career with no formal art education has been a learning curve to say the least,” Ms Beths said.

Always a believer in the fact that there are silver linings in every situation has lead Ms Beths to not only have paintings displayed in both the Downlands College and Fairholme College Art Shows but to also secure an opening exhibition at the Rosalie Art Gallery, Goombungee.

“I had already committed to the art exhibition, and with the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers about to happen I still went and purchased all the canvas that I needed knowing that even if the gallery did not open for September 2020 I would have a full body of work that normally I would not of done,” Ms Beths said.

“This full body of work leads to great photos and work to display on the online community. This was a win win for me as an emerging artist.”

The exhibition will be vibrant and sums up springtime in the Toowoomba region.

The exhibition is called Ladies’ Day and features 20 large floral orientated paintings.

There is a lovely cafe a few steps down the street so taking a visit to view the Ladies’ Day exhibition is well worth a trip out – it’s like viewing another garden ready for the Carnival of Flowers.
