Major awards for mums

SEVERAL Toowoomba mums in business have been recognised on a national level, taking home awards at the AusMumpren­eur Awards.

The AusMumpren­eur Awards are presented by The Women’s Business School and were created to inspire a community for Australian entreprene­urs.

Women’s Business School co-founder Peace Mitchell said now more than ever Australian women needed inspiratio­nal role models and a safe and supportive space to connect online.

“These awards are all about recognisin­g the growing number of mums who are achieving outstandin­g business success while balancing motherhood,” she said.

“I was blown away by the courage, resilience and entreprene­urial spirit of the award winners and I know that they will provide great inspiratio­n for other women considerin­g starting their own business.”

The awards were held online via Zoom where thousands of talented women in business from all over the country tuned in to the lifestream to support and encourage other mumpreneur­s.

When the finalists were announced a number of mums across Toowoomba contacted The Chronicle to advise them of the achievemen­t.

They were Jessica Ritchie of Jessica Ritchie: Brand and Marketing Expert, Melissa Dickfos of Regional Roar, Kat Lynn of Foodie Shots Photograph­y, Sheryl Gillies of Athonika, Kylie Martin of Glourisly Free Oats, Katie Roberstons Kelk of ECM Consulting, Wendy Cook of Graziers Daughter Hampers, Rebecca Dredge of Kiddo App as well as Simone Files and Rebecca Fogarty of Blackbird and Finch Estate Agents.

Of those women, four received gold, silver or bronze awards.

Of those women, four received gold, silver or bronze awards, including Ms Ritchie who took home two silver awards for the People’s Choice Business Coach and B2B Services categories.

She said 2020 had been a tough year for businesses.

“I am so grateful to have the trust of my clients to assist them in creating and strengthen­ing their branding and marketing strategy during these times to sustain their livelihood and their wellbeing,” she said.

“The calibre of nominees at this year’s award was outstandin­g and it was an honour to be in such great company.”
