Oktoberfest time at Bavarian

-

OKTOBERFEST 2020 may have been toned down in Munich but the quench for Oktoberfest biers remain, so The Bavarian has stepped in.

With a German heritage that dates back more than 40 years, there is no better place in Toowoomba to celebrate the annual Oktober-festivities than The Bavarian.

The Bavarian is known for its imported German draught beers, served in traditional, glass steins.

There are seven German brews on tap, Löwenbräu, Franziskaner Hefe Weissbier Dunkel, Franziskaner Hefe Weissbier Hell, Hofbräu Original, Hofbräu Dunkel, Paulaner and Spaten.

Each bier is special in that it abides to the ancient German Purity Law, or Reinheitsgebot, which means that it can only contain four ingredients: water, hops, malt and yeast.

Australian and New Zealand craft beers also compliment these iconic German brews.

An Oktoberfest feasting menu is available at the restaurant, until Saturday, 31 October for $39 per person.

The menu incorporates classic dishes, such as buttery pretzels, golden-crackled pork knuckle, pork belly and crackling, a trio of sausages, and the most popular German dish of all the schnitzel.

This platter includes all the traditional Bavarian trimmings of sauerkraut, red cabbage, mashed potato, apple compote and bier jus.

Guests can end on a sugar-spice high with häus-made apple strudel served with vanilla ice cream.

A limited-edition Oktoberfest schnitzel will be available for the month of October, kicking off a monthly rotation of unique schnitzel variations.
