A group of ladies arrived at golf today, 1st December 2020, to play a Single Stableford. Winner with 41 points was Petae Frazer. 2nd place Lotte Pedersen 39 and 3rd Paula Heelan 37. The Longest Day is an endurance golf marathon designed to test your skill, strength and stamina. The challenge is to successful­ly complete 36 holes from dawn to dusk and raise funds for Cancer Council’s research, prevention and support services. In 2019 the Clifton Golf Club men successful­ly completed The Longest Day 72 holes challenge raising just under $3000 for the Cancer Council, so ladies lets exceed this and set the bar higher for the men in 2021. MyGolf Junior Clinics. The Clifton Golf Club has commenced MyGolf, the junior introducto­ry program for golf. Friday December 4th 8.30am: Ladies Mixed Friday. The men are welcome to join the Ladies. Names in or be there by 8.00am. Saturday December 5th, 8.30am: Week 2 City Scroungers. This is a fresh and exciting format with up to four players per rink bowling 3 bowls each with the three nearest bowls scoring 3,2, and 1 points over 16 ends. The rink winners play off in a three-end final. Sunday December 6th, 12.30pm: Annual visit by Crows Nest Club. 21 players have nominated. Two games of 12 ends (3 bowl triples) with a short drinks break for half an hour after game 1. A sausage sizzle will follow Game 2. Green Fees – $15 per player. Bar roster – K Gleeson. Green keeping roster – Bill Hogan. Tuesday December 8th: 9.30am: Coaching/Practice/Roll-ups. Please note the earlier session time for Tuesday practice/roll-ups/coaching is 9.30am – 11.30am. This will continue for the whole of summer to avoid the heat of the afternoons. NOTE: If the temperatur­e reaches 35o the coaching/roll-ups session will be cancelled. The $300 pot did not go off so jackpots to $348 for the next game.
