Fearmongering at its finest
“The State Labor Government jumped the gun on announcing COVID exposure sites for St George,” Member for Warrego Ann Leahy MP said.
“We are now told the two truck drivers in question have returned two negative tests therefore exposure sites won’t be listed,” Ms Leahy said.
“The State Labor Government’s handling of this situation has been fearmongering at its finest,” Ms Leahy said.
“Announcing in a press conference there would be two possible positive Covid 19 cases then providing no follow up for a full day is fearmongering,” Ms Leahy said.
“It has now been confirmed that the truck drivers have returned two negative tests, exposure sites will not be made public as the Labor Government has deemed these individuals to not be Covid cases. Social media was blowing up with St George residents crying out for information.
“The silence from the State Labor Government did nothing but spread fear through the community.
“Again Labor put spin before safety,” Ms Leahy said.
