“It’s also important that people are well equipped and ready to take the next step.

“If you are genuinely concerned about someone’s well being you need to be thinking about what you can do next.

“It’s a big focus of the QRL and NRL to help support people to take that next step.”

THE MORE HANDS YOU HAVE REACHING OUT – THE MORE CHANCE THERE IS OF CATCHING SOMEONE. GRANT BIGNELL

“Thankfully there are a lot of programs and networks in place to help all our members.

“The more hands you have reaching out – the more chance there is of catching someone.”

Helps takes the shape of everything from education programs to on the ground support.

“The QRL has been very proactive, particularly in the last few years,” Bignell said.

“The QRL has a point of contact in every zone to offer assistance and help on the ground.

“At the Intrust Super Cup level every club must have a dedicated health and wellbeing officer as part of their charter.

“We also have dedicated junior and senior programs designed to educate and equip our members with the tools and awareness they need.
