Quarantine hub

-

JOHN Wagner says that he and his brothers are staking their reputations on delivering the upcoming Wellcamp quarantine facility, both on time and in line with detailed plans and project design … after which time the Wagner Corporation would simply become landlord to the operator of the hub.

Personally, I don’t think that anyone doubts the ability of Wagners to manage and complete this project to meet their expectations – I know I certainly don’t.

As for the role of landlord … well, (with respect to John Wagner), I’m sure this function will be no more than elementary.

The plans, the design, the project itself and the role of landlord is not the real issue here.

The real issue here lies with the operator/s and their day-to-day operation of the hub. I believe that will be the State Government and Qld Health … thus the growing public concern.

For the majority of the community opposed to the facility, it is their fear of a Covid outbreak right on our doorstep – nothing more, nothing less – along with their lack of faith in Premier Palaszczuk and her State Government in their ability or perceived lack of it, to “manage-tothe-max”, the operation of this hub.

The Premier displays her uncontrollable desire for power and in so doing, demonstrates an arrogance and lack of respect for others.

There has also been her inconsistencies and double standards … eg allowing NRL families entry into Qld when other more deserving people and cases were completely overlooked. Of course, we have since seen her backflip and her apology.

Keeping people in suspended fear by cultivating an air of unpredictability in hardly becoming of a leader.

It is time this Premier learnt to win through her actions, not through argument and arrogance.

That’s the way I see it … and

I am sure there are many, many others who share a similar view. RUSSELL WILSON, Wyreema
